​ ASU Microbiologist Invited as Guest Editor of Special Issue for World-Renowned Journal

Alabama State University’s microbiologist Qiana Matthews was selected to be the guest editor for a special January 2020 edition of the journal Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology. The issue is titled “Microbes and Innate Immunity.”

Matthews’ lab is well-known for studying human disease, specifically, disease pathogenesis and vaccine development. This is why Frontiers asked Matthews to edit this special issue.

“As a microbiology faculty member, it is an honor to be selected as guest editor of my own special issue in a world-renown journal,Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology," Matthews said.

Matthews is now selecting a combination of reviews papers and original research as part of the 10-15 articles included in the special issue. Researchers who want to submit their scholarly topic to be considered for the special edition may contact Matthews at qmatthews@alasu.edu
